AARP will present a Driver Safety Class on Friday, October 25, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the conference room of the Pass Christian Public Library.
Mississippi law requires insurance companies to give seniors who attend an approved driver safety course a discount on their auto insurance, so seniors are invited to attend the course to help them save money on their insurance.
The four-hour course is designed to show seniors how they should adjust their driving habits as they get older. Topics will include defensive driving techniques, proven safety strategies, and new traffic laws and rules of the road. A light lunch will be sponsored by the Friends of the Pass Christian Library.
All instructors are volunteers. The cost for the materials workbook for the class is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members.
