Back by popular demand, the City of Long Beach is preparing for its second annual Spooky Halloween Trail. The event is free and open to the public and will be held on the grounds of the Long Beach Senior Center at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 18.

Nearly 2,000 people showed last year for the family-friendly event, which seeks to provide a safe fall celebration and venue for local children and their families.

Children are encouraged to dress in costume and bring a bag or container to collect candy and other goodies as they walk through the decorated on-site trail.

There is one big change, though, this year, according to the City of Long Beach’s Community Affairs Director Courtney Cuevas.

“We recommend individuals to come when the event starts,” Cuevas says. “Due to the large amount of attendees, the trail will be closed when the candy runs out.”

“We are encouraging community members and business owners to participate in this year’s trail by decorating a section and passing out candy,” Cuevas said.

The Senior Center is located at 20257 Daugherty Road.
