Long Beach police and K-9 team up to provide community safety tips

Posted

Community safety was the focus of a recent gathering at First United Methodist Church in Long Beach.

Long Beach Police Captain Kenny Lassabe and Officer Travis Gossett were the featured speakers at a recent meeting for the Older Adult Kindred Spirits (O.A.K.S.) meeting. K-9 Jack also made a special appearance, as the two officers shared their knowledge, tools, experience and skills with those in attendance to help keep the community safe.

The Long Beach Police Department works year-round at numerous community events to share safety tips and raise awareness.

The Long Beach Police Department is also looking to hire new police officers. Applications are available at the station at 201 Alexander Road or at City Hall at 201 Jeff Davis Avenue.
