The Long Beach School District (LBSD) recently announced the selection of Long Beach High School teacher Rebecca Bradley to the Mississippi Teacher Advisory Council (MTAC). Bradley’s appointment was announced by the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) in a release naming her as one of forty-nine new teachers joining the now three hundred-person council.
Formed in 2016, MTAC’s purpose is to provide feedback directly to the state superintendent on initiatives of the MDE, the Mississippi State Board of Education and the Mississippi State Legislature. Teachers on this council represent both rural and urban districts and a large variety of content areas specialties.
“We congratulate Mrs. Bradley on her selection and know that she will represent Long Beach and the students and teachers in Mississippi public schools well,” said Long Beach Superintendent Dr. Talia Lock.
Bradley says she is looking forward to being a part of this important council.
“I feel honored to have been selected to serve on the Mississippi Teacher Advisory Council,” Bradley said. “I am excited to have the opportunity and privilege to advocate on the behalf of our students.”
Bradley joins fellow LBSD educators Joseph Barnard, Susanna Crapps, and Caroline Bartlett on MTAC.
